Zoster (Shingles) is caused by the varicella-zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox. After varicella sores heal, the virus lies dormant in nerves and may later become shingles. Shingles occur when the virus reactivates, especially when your immune system weakens. The pain caused by shingles can last for 4 weeks, and can severely affect usual daily activities. Blindness and deafness may result if the rash extends to the eyes and ears. One out of every 4 patients who get shingles may experience post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN), a nerve pain that can persistent for several months or years even after disappearance of the rash. The risk of persistent nerve pain increases with advancing age. The CDC recommends that people aged 50 years or older receive the shingles vaccine (Shingrix) to prevent shingles and PHN.

Object: People aged 50 or above; and Individuals aged 19 or above who have been confirmed by a doctor to have weakened immune function.

  • The price includes the consultation by the doctor and the subsequent injection by the doctor or nurse.
  • Must be assessed by a doctor whether it is suitable for vaccination. After the doctor’s consultation, if the client is not suitable for vaccination, the client will need to pay the doctor's consultation fee of HK$200. In all instances of refund cases, WeWell Healthcare reserves the right to impose a 5% handling fee. Refund will be issued within 15 business days of the request.
